Seamless steel pipes can be divided into: hot-rolled seamless steel pipes, cold-rolled seamless steel pipes, cold-drawn seamless steel pipes, extruded seamless steel pipes, jacking pipes, etc. Seamless steel pipes are manufactured by cold drawing or hot rolling. Compared with welded steel pipes, seamless steel pipes have no welded joints and therefore have higher strength and pressure resistance. This manufacturing method also helps reduce corrosion issues inside the pipes.

 

Seamless steel pipes are widely used as pipelines for transporting fluids, such as pipelines for transporting oil, natural gas, coal gas, water and certain solid materials. Compared with solid steel materials such as round steel, steel pipes are lighter in weight when the bending and torsional strength is the same, and they are an economical cross-section steel material. It is widely used to manufacture structural parts and mechanical parts, such as oil drill pipes, automobile transmission shafts, bicycle frames, and steel scaffolding used in construction. Steel pipes are used to make ring parts.

 

ASTM A106: This is a common type of seamless carbon steel pipe typically used in high temperature and high pressure applications such as boilers and heat exchangers.

ASTM A53: Seamless and welded carbon steel pipe typically used in general industrial and low-pressure applications such as conveying water, gases, and air.

ASTM A335: Seamless alloy steel pipe, commonly used in high temperature and high pressure applications such as the chemical and petroleum industries.
